Portrait sessions in a natural setting, such as your favorite beach or park can leave you with both great photos & great memories. According to the moms at this photo shoot, getting the kids to smile naturally was going to be a challenge. Letting them have fun and play... what a great way to both make them more comfortable with the photo shoot and with smiling! I had a great time photographing these kids, giving both parents a cd of their own and also included a lightscribed separate cd for a Christmas present for their Grandma.

I thought it would be fun to put a little photo of myself, taken by my assistant Mike at a wedding this October 2009. What a fun wedding! When I first met with the bride we learned that her mother and I had worked together about 3 years prior at respective phone companies. This wedding turned out to be both a great reunion and a great wedding. I will post some more photos from this wedding in the near future. Each wedding is very, very different. It's fun trying to determine who will be the one's at the end of the night trying to lift the groom. Glen Manor - Portsmouth RI

I recently photographed Valerie & John's wedding at the Glen Manor, located at 3 Frank Coelho Dr, Portsmouth RI. It was honestly one of the most beautiful locations I have seen as far as photography is concerned; from the great getting ready rooms upstairs, the long winding staircases, the ornate decorations in the rooms, and the sprawling lawns where the ceremony can be held on beautiful days! The Guys - Getting Ready Photos!

I'm not going to sugar coat it... The guys, getting ready photos are fun... But in general, they take about 10.5 minutes to get ready... and that includes the wrestling match! They do however round out the album and photos of the complete day. It can be very interesting... to see what really goes on behind the scenes. Bridesmaid's Gifts - Have you picked yours yet?

One of the most intriguing aspects of photographing weddings is capturing the style and essence of the bride, the groom, and the people that mean the most to them in their lives. One of the great parts of photographing the bride getting ready and the groom getting ready is capturing them interacting with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, their parents and grandparents. It's hard not to get choked up when the gifts that they give their mom or bridesmaids are so personalized. Recently, one of my brides gave beautiful, hand crafted mirror compacts to her bridesmaids. Each gift was engraved with a personal message on the back. So much more tasteful and appropriate than having the date of the wedding engraved, it was so thoughtful. Her friends loved it.

Well it's time to start blogging. I guess I can start by introducing myself. My name is Bonnie Carter. I'm a local (to the New England area) photographer and I'm taking my company to the next "green" level.

I think it's time that not only in our personal lives, but in our business lives, we take a stand for our environment; we only get one. So let's make it count.
